The process is very similar to payroll outsourcing. First the employer funds Cass for all its employees' reimbursements. If the employer has 5,000 employees and its total BYOD reimbursement expense for the month is $38,000, then the employer transfers $38,000 to Cass, which is a financial holding company and member of the Federal Reserve.

Next, each employee receives his or her monthly wireless bill from their carrier. Whether their carrier is AT&T, Sprint, Verizon or some other, it makes no difference. The employee's bill will reflect the employer's reimbursement stipend as a credit. So if the employer reimburses some employees $50 per month and others $40 per month and others $70, all of these varied reimbursement payments are managed automatically through the Cass BYOD solution and the Cass Electronic Payment Network. Every employee sees a credit for the correct reimbursement amount on his or her monthly bill.
